Update on extinguishment of the Public Right of Way to the rear of Brookwood Park and Brookwood Avenue

A request to have the public right of way extinguished on laneway to the rear of Beechbrook Park and Brookwood Avenue, Artane, Dublin 5 was received from residents. The North Central Area Committee at its meeting on 21st December 2009 agreed to initiate the statutory procedure to extinguish the public right of way over the above laneway.

By public advertisement on 7th January 2010 representations or objections were invited by 25th February 2010. No residential objections were received.

While conducting service checks the following requirements were highlighted:

  • Eircom: Required access to existing telecommunications infrastructure located in the laneway. An agreement has been reached with the residents

The Executive Manager of Dublin City Council has recommended that the Committee approve the extinguishment of the public right of way, for later consideration by the City Council.
