St Patricks Day in Montana

Pictured is the Montana State Capital building on St Patricks day, with the Irish flag flying as is their tradition.

Montana State Capital on St Patricks Day

Still a little bit of snow in March…

It seems the statue is of Thomas Francis Meagher, who was a famous irish immigrant to Montana.

History is torn over whether he was killed on a steamboat on the Missouri river, or if he got too drunk and fell overboard:) Either way he was pretty significant in Montana history.

(thanks to my pal Levi Ostberg, one of Montana’s best, for the pic and the “local knowledge”!)
