5 Facts About Drinking Water Supply in Dublin

From a Water Supply presentation given by Brian Smyth at the Environment Strategic Policy Committee at DCC today:

  1. Average 2010 demand for treated water in the Region is 555 million litres a day
  2. Average storage of raw (untreated) water in 2010 is 196 days worth of water
  3. Average storage of treated water in 2010 is 36 hours worth (interestingly enough, there is a target to get this down to 24 hours)
  4. Average unaccounted water for 2009 is 36.5% for Dublin
  5. Average unaccounted water for June 2010 is 38.8% for Dublin
