Fine Gael candidate debunks Ó’Riordáin’s strategy
Fine Gael General Election candidate for Dublin Bay North, Councillor Naoise Ó Muirí has responded to recent media reports in relation to the Labour party candidate’s canvassing message, by calling on Fine Gael voters in Dublin Bay North to vote Fine Gael.
“Aodhan Ó’Riordáin is quoted as calling for Fine Gael voters to vote “strategically” for Labour in order to return two Government TDs in Dublin Bay North,” Councillor Ó Muirí explained.
“O’Riordáin does not represent Fine Gael voters or their values in Dublin Bay North and putting out an early “béal bocht” looking for FG votes will not wash with them,” he pointed out.
“I have encountered Labour voters who are offering a first preference to me as a means of ensuring two government seats are returned safely,” he went on to say.
“The best way for voters in Dublin Bay North to return two Government TDs is to elect two Fine Gael TDs. As a Fine Gael candidate who stood in 2011 and garnered nearly 5,000 first preference votes, I am best placed to secure that second seat and am campaigning very hard on that basis.”
