Resurfacing of Blackheath Park, Clontarf

DUBLIN CITY COUNCIL – NORTH CENTRAL AREA COMMITTEE

20th September 2010

Q.54     Question in the name of Councillor Naoise O’Muirí

Can the Manager examine the poor road surface at Blackheath Park and undertake        the necessary road repairs/resurfacing works”.

Reply:

Road Maintenance Services Division had plans to carry out full reconstruction of sections of this road in 2009.  However, due to budget cut backs these works could not be carried out.  As a temporary measure, road maintenance has carried out a number of localised repairs on Blackheath Park including localised reconstruction and pothole repairs. There was no funding to carry out extensive reconstruction and road resurfacing in 2010. This location will be reassessed for inclusion in the 2011 Major Works Programme.  However, selection of projects is based on road condition and budgetary constraints and no guarantee can be given whether work can be carried out at this location.

Road Maintenance Services Division will continue to carry out localised repairs on Blackheath Park. Resurfacing will be carried out at this location as soon as sufficient funding becomes available to Road Maintenance Services Division.
