Pay & Display Parking Solving Clontarf’s Congestion Problems – Ó Muirí

There are established links with several business communities in the Area with specific projects resulting from the partnerships. An example would be the identification by local businesses in Clontarf of the negative effect on business of the all day parking in the promenade car parks.

Area staff, again through collaboration with the various internal departments, arranged for the installation of a Pay and Display system. The car park at Vernon Avenue has now been lined and the new Pay and Display system is in place. Additional public lighting provision has been made at this location. Two other car parks now have Pay and Display meters in place at car parks adjacent to The Yacht and CIE locations.

Following observation, it is having the desired effect of freeing up parking spaces for accessing amenities and businesses at the Vernon Avenue location.
