There appears to be a concerted campaign underway to try and close down the Smithfield Horse Market and it’s all “one-way traffic” in favour of closure at the moment.

The repair works on the watermain at Marrowbone Lane have now been completed.  Recharging the network with water has commenced and normal supply should be restored to all areas over the course of the evening. This watermain is still out of commission with work continuing on the repair. It is hoped to have the work completed in the afternoon. Got word yesterday that the planning application by W.S.M. Partnership for a 100-bed maternity hospital on the Howth Road was refused by An Bord Pleanala.
